New Start, Changed Policies

Abstract

I have archived old files and updated my websites.

The arrangement of these websites is based on my expectations for the next five years. The emphasis is on my books in print.

My interests and outlook have become more and more long term, so my writing will probably reflect that perspective.

My websites are now centered on me, not some activity or goal. The lead-in website (or "portal" in industry language) is walterbattaglia.com. From there, readers can find all the content in this collection. The portal displays links to several subsidiary websites (including this one), each of which starts with an index of its contents. Items posted to websites are generally classified alphabetically by subject and title. When I have time, I also separately classify titles by original posting date.

Each of my books has its own directory. So far, there are two books: The Graduate Student's Question and Ethics as Social Conscience. Everything pertinent to a book is shown on its site.

Book sales are handled by California Expert Software (CES), which is my business. CES is the publisher and imprint of my books. I do try to make my books widely available and competitively priced through on-line retailers and book stores.

The other components of this collection are mostly about me, my life or my writing. Almost everything I've posted is WRITING. To date, there are no films and cartoons. What I do is write.

I'm not an entertainer. My writings are, by and large, about "serious" subjects. As I get older and the clock runs out, I tend to get more serious, not less. I really don't have a lot of time left to fool around. I am not interested in laughing myself to death. This means I don't plan on writing anything unless it is worth reading at a later date.

I hope to find my audience in those readers and writers who are similarly minded.
